WHAT IS NEXT STEPS?

Next Steps is BCAPOP’s planned small, home-like, 24/7 staffed supportive recovery residence in Kamloops for pregnant and newly parenting people in recovery, with infants able to remain with their parent where appropriate. BCAPOP’s Board of Directors has approved moving forward with the program, and extensive policy, operational and partnership development is already underway. BCAPOP is now working to secure a suitable residence, complete Assisted Living registration, and build the funding partnerships needed to open, with a goal of welcoming our first residents by June 2027, subject to securing a suitable property, required approvals and sufficient funding.
