Exciting things are happening at Next Steps! As we prepare to open our perinatal recovery home for moms and babies in Kamloops in 2027, we're inviting community members to get involved through two volunteer opportunities.

Join the Next Steps Launch Collective!
We're recruiting a small group of enthusiastic, community-minded volunteers to join our Next Steps Launch Collective from January 1 to May 28, 2027.
The Launch Collective will play an important role in helping us transform our house into a warm, welcoming home for the moms and babies who will stay with us.
Volunteers will help with activities such as:

Fundraising and organizing community events

Connecting with local businesses and potential donors

Collecting and organizing donated items

Preparing and organizing our home

Supporting other activities leading up to opening
We're looking for individuals who can contribute approximately 4 to 6 hours per month, with flexibility based on their availability and interests. No special qualifications or experience are required, just enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to help make a difference.
The Launch Collective is a temporary volunteer initiative focused on preparing Next Steps for opening.

We're also inviting community members to submit expressions of interest for future volunteer opportunities at Next Steps.
Once our home opens, we anticipate welcoming volunteers who can contribute to a supportive, nurturing environment for moms and babies.

We're not recruiting for these positions just yet, but we'd love to begin connecting with people who are interested!
All future volunteer positions will require screening, a criminal record check, orientation and training. Some roles may require additional certifications, such as FOODSAFE. Next Steps will provide role-specific volunteer training.
